Today the children learnt about the effects of plastic on whales in the ocean. We learnt lots of interesting facts and how we can make a difference. We have created some brilliant artwork to represent this current issue; using water colours and oil pastels.

Alien Soup!
Year 5 have learnt about different methods of separating materials, which have been mixed together. They were given the task of separating Alien Soup. They had to choose what methods to use and which equipment was the most suitable. This became very messy!

Soluble or insoluble?
Our new SITE focus is 'properties of materials'. The children loved the first of many experiments this half term. The children predicted whether materials were soluble or insoluble in hot water and then we tested it out! We discovered a wide range of results!
