Who has the greater force?
Year 5 had their launch of forces today. They learnt how all forces are either pull or pull and balanced or unbalanced. We tested out those forces by playing tug or war! When the rope stopped moving their forces were balanced.

Plotting Planets
The children completed their space topic by plotting the distance between the planets on our field. We had to take a lot of steps to measure the scale!

Amazing Artwork!
Year 5 have produced brilliant and skilful pieces of art inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe to finish their SITE focus on 'Life Cycles of Plants'. They have blended oil pastels beautifully.

The children have been finding hidden pictures around the school grounds, marking their position and finding their six-figure grid reference. It was lovely in the sunshine!

Earth Day Gardening
Year 5 enjoyed spending time outside planting sunflower seeds on World Earth Day. We are going to look after them, watch them grow and plant them in our garden. We experimented by placing lots of seeds in one and less in another as the children wondered which would grow best.
