We had lots of fun in Class 5 creating the planets of our solar system! The children's imaginations were superb! We began by discussing the features of each planet and then the children discussed how we could create each planet. For example for Mars, they used clay, red sand and a textured paper to portray the red, sand storm planet; for the moon, they asked for bubble wrap to represent the craters; and for Venus, they found bright cellophane, jewels and glitter to recreate the hottest and brightest planet in our solar system. The children learnt loads!
