What's that sound?
Today, we took advantage of the lovely weather by taking our SITE lesson outside.
We were investigating how sounds are made and discovered that it is the vibration of an object that makes the sound. We watched an experiment where Miss Ings put sand on a drum and hit it; we saw the sand move showing the vibration travelling through the object. We then went outside to investigate objects in our learning environment. We were looking for high and low pitched sounds, loud and quiet sounds and sounds that got fainter as the distance between the object and the children increased.
Tamsin and Agnes were so excited to show the class that on the assault course, when you hit it, you could actually see the vibrations.
Fantastic learning Class 4, keep up the enthusiasm.
