"You're looking at the next best artist"

What a day!

Class 4 have been working really hard all day exploring all things art related.

First off, we explored basic skills using pencils; stippling, hatching, cross-hatching and circulism. The children figured that the less pressure they applied the lighter their pencil went. This was no challenge for Class 4, so we levelled up by having a go at drawing and shading curved objects; this was a little harder.

We then explored landscape pieces by Van Gogh, David Hockney and Picasso. Looking at their techniques and colours. Every child go to have a go at recreating the image in preparation for their final piece.

After all this learning and practice, the children had a go at their own landscape final piece - they loved this and one even said "You are looking at the next David Hockney," this motivation and enthusiasm is what we love to see!
