Buggies and Rovers in Space!
Class 5 have LOVED their SITE day today. After a half term of exciting learning about our solar system, they put their learning into action by designing a buggy or rover suitable for their chosen planet. Their ideas were fantastic!
Some of their ideas were to include protective shields as their planet may be stormy, or at risk of being hit by asteroids; or reflective to cool the buggy or insulating to keep it warm. They had cameras, windows, seats or grips on the wheels if it was suitable. They included solar panels, or ways of producing energy to power the buggies. The children created ways of collecting samples for scientists to analyse. Their knowledge about the different planets was endless!
Class 5 were secret carpenters - they were superb at safely using the saws for the first time.
Year 5, can you explain your buggy or rover to others?
