Wild About Reading
We want all of our children to develop a passion for reading - whether it be non-fiction or fiction! Reading is not only an important skill for life, but a brilliant way of relaxing. Our cosy reading corner aims to encourage children to take a moment from our busy school day to enjoy going wild for any of our wide selection of books. With a leafy canopy above and twinkling fairy lights surrounding it, it is easy to see why our reading corner is a popular place to relax.
Relaxing with a brilliant book wouldn't be the same without a friend to share it with, so our reading corner has a selection of soft "reading buddies" which which are available for the children whenever they are using the reading corner.
I hope that throughout the year, our reading corner will develop even further as our class librarians take on responsibility for selecting book themes and suggesting ways to make it even more comfortable! So far suggestions have included the addition of even more fairy lights!
