Rescuing a penguin from the ice!

Class R have had great fun working together to find the best way to rescue a penguin from a big block of ice! The children came up with their own strategies to rescue the penguin, learning by trial and error.

They tried scraping, rubbing and attempting to smash the ice before working out they needed to come up with a way to melt the ice. Some of their ideas to melt the ice block included placing it on the radiator, under the hand dryer, in the sunshine and in the microwave!

Everyone was delighted when the penguin was freed. Well done Class R.
