Year 6 wrote their instructions to their 'Alchemist Machine' this week. A machine designed by them that has the powerful ability to turn precious memories into gold. We took a new approach to this piece of writing by spending a morning orally rehearsing the complex instructions to our machines first by recording our instructions on the iPads, listening back to our work, then upleveling before the final write. Then children had the recording of the instructions to listen to as they wrote. We will definitely be trying this more in the future as it helped children understand how to improve their own work independently and gave them a huge confident boost in their own abilities. Well done Year 6.
