Cricket Allstars
Class One have been enjoying the winter sunshine in P.E this week whilst learning cricket skills with Nick from Shadwell Cricket Club.
The children showed great team building skills whilst playing volcanos and craters. The class had to work in teams to flip as many cones as possible before the timer ran out.
Nick introduced the children to new equipment such as cricket bats and wickets. We used the bats to dribble the ball up the playground and around obstacles. We were very impressed with the control and co-ordination shown by the children.
Finally, the children were taught to bowl the balls and used an overarm throw to hit down as many wickets as possible.
We can’t wait to see how the children’s skills develop throughout the half term.
