Creative Writing Workshop with the Author of the Firebird Chronicles!
Class 5 and 6 had such an exciting start to the week, where they got to complete a creative workshop. The morning started with Daniel Ingram-Brown returning to Bramham to share an extract from his new book called ‘Through the Uncrossable Boundary’, which is the third book of the Firebird Chronicles series. We were the first people to hear him read it aloud – this was so EXCITING and the children loved it!
After being introduced to new characters, Year 5 and 6 split off into their classrooms and completed a creative writing workshop with four students from Leeds Beckett University. This was exciting as they got to start thinking about their past and what memories they could remember. After, it was followed by the children creating a new setting for an unknown island that had four sections to it. These sections included the following: savanna, forest, mountain or desert. The children could choose whatever setting they wanted to and then got to create a character to match this setting as this is how Daniel creates his characters in his books.
Overall it was an amazing morning where the children got to get their creative juices flowing, ready for creating a piece of writing which will be shown to Dan himself.
