Year 6 Officially Launch World War 2 Topic
Class 6 had a fantastic day officially launching their World War Two topic!
The children came in dressed as evacuees. While learning about the evacuation, the children were ordered to evacuate the city and make their way to safety in the countryside! They were met by a billeting officer who organised the children and sent them to Cherry Tree Farm! On the farm, they learned about safety during air raids and helped with jobs for their host family.
We received letters from parents who were missing their children dearly and empathised with the impact the evacuation would have had on families all over Britain.
The children then spent the afternoon developing their source work skills and having a literal 'taster' of our upcoming learning about rationing in Britain.
What a fun-filled day of learning!
