Earth Day 2021
Class One really enjoyed celebrating Earth Day today. We spent the morning learning all about plastic and how plastics don't biodegrade and can end up in our oceans effecting our wonderfully diverse sea population. We rescued some animals from plastic fishing nets, drew some turtles and the plastics that could be dangerous to them, learnt which materials can be recycled and how we can reuse our plastic items. We then talked about renewable energy sources, before making our own solar ovens to make some s'mores! They were delicious and it was amazing how we could get such energy from the sun!
