Ledston Estate Trip

Image of Ledston Estate Trip

On a very cold Tuesday morning, we bundled into a coach and headed to Ledston Estate with Shadwell for a fun day of learning outside. We met Barbara and discussed all sorts of things, from different types of plants and how seeds are formed to pollination and how things grow. We learned about the important links between the wildlife from the little insects to the large deer and the plants and forests in which they live. After lunch, we played some games outside before measuring a tree and estimating its age (a beech tree that was 187 years old!). Finally, we went on a scavenger hunt before coming together as a group to do some den building.
