Chinese New Year
The children had a fantastic time celebrating Chinese New Year. The role play area became a Chinese restaurant and the children enjoyed taking orders and eating the Chinese food.
Class R were especially excited to try different foods from China. The prawn crackers were a particular favourite in our class. The children had lots of fun trying to use chopsticks to eat their rice and noodles and we were really impressed that some children managed to use them.
We enjoyed learning the story of 'The Great Race' and did some super pieces of writing about the story. We also tried to write our names using Chinese characters and some children were eager to write Chinese numbers as well.
We enjoyed learning to count to 5 in Mandarin using a song from 'The Lingo Show' on CBeebies.
