History Detectives
This week Year 2 had an exciting delivery from the history museum. We had a selection of dinosaur models and fossils delivered to school for us to look at closely. We spent a lot of time thinking about what each item might be and predicting how old it was. The children were keen to touch the items and used some lovely adjectives to describe the feel of the objects such as rough, smooth, bumpy and jagged. Many children also used rulers independently to measure the length of the T-Rex teeth and to measure the size of the fossils. After looking at a model of a dinosaur and discovering through research that it was 10m in length, some of our boys decided to find out just how long it was and used metre sticks to explore the size of the dino. It was the entire length of the classroom - we were shocked and incredibly excited! We are keen to now start learning all about famous fossil hunters - watch this space!
