Y5/6 Girls Football match at home vs Holy Family (23/2/18) – Lost 7-0
23 February 2018
On Friday the girls’ team went into a tough match against Holy Family. Boosted by Tuesday’s win, even though we knew it would be a difficult game, we went in with a positive outlook to try and stop one of the best opponents we would play this season. The game started well, with chances for both teams, Lucy was unlucky to see her shot go straight at the keeper. Although Holy Family were 3-0 up at half time, two of the goals were preventable and another was right at the end of the half.
Our committed defending continued into the second half, with the girls giving everything to try and stop the opposition attackers. Despite our best efforts, Holy Family took control and managed to score further goals. We had a couple of chances on the break, and hopefully the scoreline wont detract from a very good performance from our girls; they never gave up and kept going to the end, we have more games next week which will no doubt see positive results!
