February is Healthy Heart Month, so let’s all show our hearts some love.

Our Healthy Heart Menu is due to be served week commencing February 8th.

Keeping your heart healthy, whatever your age, is the most important thing you can do to help prevent and manage heart disease. A healthy diet can help reduce your risk of developing coronary heart disease and stop you gaining weight, reducing your risk of diabetes and high blood pressure.

Our Healthy Heart Theme menu is packed full of lots of heart healthy nutrients:

Salmon- Packed full of Omega-3 oils. Omega-3 oils may reduce inflammation throughout the body. Inflammation in the body can damage your blood vessels and lead to heart disease.

Beans- High in minerals and fibre. Eating beans as part of a heart healthy diet and lifestyle may help improve your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which are both leading causes of heart disease.

Sweet Potato- Full of Vitamin C, B6, Iron, Magnesium and Potassium. All of these vitamins and minerals can help play a role in keeping your heart and body healthy.

Apple & Oat Muffins- Packed full of fibre (apples) and beta gulcan (oats).  Both known to help reduce your ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol levels.
