BBC Children in Need

Every year we get dressed up on Children in Need day to raise money! This year all staff and pupils got dressed up as superheroes!!

This week children from the Bramham and Shadwell Federation took part in a sponsored spelling test. Who said children can’t spell these days? Children from Bramham and Shadwell primary schools have certainly worked hard on their spellings to raise the fabulous total of £3648.

The children worked hard to learn a set of spellings given to them by the NSPCC and thanks to the generosity of their sponsors, the money the children have raised will go towards helping and protecting nearly 1000 vulnerable children in our own community.

The NSPCC has a vision that all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. This is a vision shared by the two schools that embarked upon this fundraising challenge.  The organizer from the NSPCC wrote to the schools to thank the children and commented that

‘I have been made to feel very welcome by the whole staff team; I really appreciate the courtesy, respect, helpfulness and enthusiasm from all the children I met. They are truly a credit to their parents or carers and to all of you at Shadwell Primary School and likewise at Bramham Primary School.’

We are very proud of our children and the manner in which they have responded to help other children. Everyone who gave from the smallest to the largest amount played their part in this fantastic achievement.

Royal British Legion

Every Year our School Councillors raise money for the Royal British Legion by selling poppies to their friends and to staff and parents. We raised a fantastic total of £191.31 this year!

Comic Relief

We fundraise for Comic Relief annually and School Council decide what activities we will do to have fun and raise money at the same time! Last year we had a variety of stalls selling cakes and also had a selection of fun games to try! In the past we have had spots and stripes days, pyjama days and dressing all in red..wonder what it will be this year??
